I am about to turn 40 (which does not make me happy). I have two kids (7 & 6 years old) and have been married to a marvelous man for almost 10 years.
I am a result of globalized migration... not from here and not from there. 23 & Me says I am 50% Jewish and 99.9% European (I am really curious about the 0.1%). None the less I continue to consider myself very much a Latina. I was born in the Caribbean and I was raised mostly in Central America. I remember beaches that took hours to get to, that had no civilization and were full of monkeys and sea shells.
We all currently live in the greater NY area, it's been two years and to be honest, we like it more than we thought it did. Diversity, movement, access... it makes for a very happy and comfortable life.
We do as much traveling as humanly possible considering limited budget and time... and we travel a bit differently then the status quo. We look for things off the beaten path. I am a faithful lover of all things Airbnb (it changed my life) and we go with little to no plan. We walk, we eat, we drink and we soak up as much local culture as possible.
I am sure there is more... but i'll have time to introduce different vectors of my crazy personality as I post.
